Ferde Grofé’s monumental Grand Canyon Suite will headline this concert.
Photographer and multimedia artist Nicholas Bardonnay of Westwater Arts spent more than two months in the Grand Canyon, and his images showcase the stunning vistas, desert beauty, and surprising islands of life found in and around this natural wonder. His visual concertos use multiple digital projectors to fill three large screens with hundreds of tightly choreographed image transitions, which he live-cues from memory. The result is an immersive experience marrying music and art that will transport you magically to the Grand Canyon. Hear him share more about his creative process at the Opening Notes talk prior to the concert at 6:45 p.m.
