We believe that theatre is for the entire community, and we further believe that Shakespeare is a cultural experience that everyone ought to have access to. Therefore, in 2020, we launched Shakespeare in the Park, a program that brings to life a full production of one of Shakespeare’s phenomenal works. We strive to make this production absolutely free, as a gift to the Waco community.
This year, we will be presenting Julius Caesar as a modern-day feminist story. Rather than the halls of ancient Rome, this particular betrayal will occur in the halls of a local sorority house. Our goal with Shakespeare in the Park is to bring these classic works to life in a fresh way, making them relatable to all who come and see it. We cannot wait to share this one with Waco!
It will be performed June 1-4 at the Indian Springs Amphitheatre, right next to the Suspension Bridge.
