The Beast of the Brazos is an open-water swim in between the banks of the Brazos in Waco, TX. This swim will feature a similar route as for a full IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 Waco with 1.2 and 2.4 mile route options. All registered swimmers will receive a swim cap and dri-fit shirt, as well as a finisher’s medal for those who make it past…The Beast!
Wetsuit classification is only relevant for determining the top 3 tiered age group for male and female awards. If you register for wetsuit, but decide to change into non wetsuit the morning of, there’s no consequences, but please let us know! You just won’t be able to qualify for a top 3 tiered age group awards.
All proceeds from this race will benefit the non-profit and 501(c)(3), The Greater Waco Sports Commission, which is devoted to providing opportunities to enhance the lives of those living in Waco and McLennan County through sport and exercise.
Race Day Schedule of Events:
6:45am-8:25am: Packet Pickup/Late Registration
8:25am-8:35am: Opening Ceremonies at Indian Springs Park
8:35am: Call for 2.4 mile participants to walk to Pecan Bottoms dock for staging
8:35am-8:55am: 2.4 mile staging
9:00am-11:20am: 2.4 mile swim with mandatory cut off time at 11:20am
9:25am: Call for 1.2 mile participants to walk to Pecan Bottoms dock for staging
9:35am-10:05am: 1.2 mile staging
10:10am-11:20am: 1.2 mile swim with mandatory cut off time at 11:20am
11:30am: Awards (Given to the top 3 males and females for each race- 12 total)
12:00 noon: After party at TBD
