Seven-time Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens will be the guest speaker at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame on Friday, May 19, for the Texas Sports Hall of Fame’s next Lone Star Luncheon.
Clemens Cy Young’s awards are unmatched, and he is the only MLB pitcher ever to collect at least 350 wins and more than 4500 strikeouts. He played 24 seasons in the MLB as one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball, throwing for the Red Sox, Blue Jays, Yankees, and Astros.
A two-time World Series champion and American League MVP, Clemens was inducted into the TSHOF in 1998. He returns to Waco for a special luncheon telling stories from his illustrious career and how his competitive nature helped him set dozens of records.
This event brings another sports legend to the museum after golf great and 1984 inductee Lee Trevino highlighted the inaugural Lone Star Luncheon in November of last year.
No individual tickets are being sold for the event. A table of eight is $1,500, and purchasers receive an autographed souvenir. A limited number of gold sponsorships are also available for $5,000, including a table for eight, one seat at Clemens’ table at lunch, a photo opportunity, and an autographed jersey.
