Mark Twain, A Baylor Lifelong Learning Coffee

April 11 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am

This is a free event

Join Baylor Lifelong Learning as we welcome a nationally recognized expert on Mark Twain, Baylor’s own Dr. Joe B. Fulton.  Dr. Fulton has authored five books on Twain and serves as the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of the Mark Twain Journal.  He’ll be presenting passages from Mark Twain books and tie them to his latest book, The Reconstruction of Mark Twain: How a Confederate Bushwhacker Became the Lincoln of our Literature.

One of the reasons a person can happily spend a lifetime studying Mark Twain is because Twain had a very long and varied career, so there’s just a lot to choose from,” Fulton said. “And the delight of his language, his use of language is what draws people to him. It’s always fresh, every time you open one of his books.”

9:30 am for refreshments.   The program starts at 10:00 am for this free community event held in the Mayborn Museum Auditorium.

Please note that parking is limited at the Museum.  The Green Route shuttle from the Ferrell Center will drop you off next to the Museum at the Simpson Center, and you can catch it to ride back to your car.

Baylor Lifelong Learning is a volunteer organization that is part of the Mayborn Museum at Baylor University.  Based on membership, we offer those 50 and better in the Waco area short courses covering a wide range of topics during the fall and spring.
